Entrance Description: The arena lights go dark and E.S. Posthumus’ cover of Ludwig van Beethoven’s classic piano composition, “Moonlight Sonata,” begins to play. The crowd recognizes the music and roars as it gets to its feet. A lone spotlight shines on the entrance stage and Erick St. John stands in the middle of it with outstretched arms and his gaze towards the heavens. After basking in the crowd’s immense welcome, ESJ begins to make his way to the ring, interacing with some members of the crowd. Once in the ring, he hops on one of the turnbuckles and outstretches his arms again and looks up towards the rafters. After another bask of adulation, he focuses on the task at hand.
Gimmick/Personality:
Erick St. John is an accomplished multi-time champion seeking one last rise to glory before retirement. ESJ has experience everything there is to experience in the wrestling business. He's been a face and a heel throughout his career. Most of the time, ESJ is somewhere in the middle. Erick's strengths are his intelligence, experience, and tenacity. However, he can be arrogant, his past injuries can hamper him, and sometimes he's too stubborn for his own good.
Biography:
Erick St. John was born into an affluent family. He was raised abroad at various military schools due to his family's business where many times he found himself bored, unsupervised, and often bullied. He had a volatile temper which got him into a lot of trouble at school. He struggled to make friends but he learned to harness his aggression through Krav Maga. When Erick was 18 years old, his parents died in a plane crash over the Swiss Alps. He inherited a vast fortune that at first he rejected. He lived several years on the streets of Los Angeles making money betting on his own underground street fights.
In 2004, Erick was offered a contract with Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) after being scouted in the underground fight scene. For the next 13 years, he perfected the craft of professional wrestling in UPW, World Championship Wrestling Federation (WCWF), and New Era Wrestling (NEW). Erick wins by threes: He was the UPW Triple Star, Cyber, and World Champion; the WCWF Television, United States, and World Champion; and the NEW Mile High, Intercontinental, and Universal Champion. In 2017, he retired from wrestling after suffering two career-threatening injuries (left knee & right shoulder) and accomplishing all he wanted in the sport. Until...
Fast-forward three years and Erick was living the life of a socialite playboy after embracing his birthright and family fortune. Wrestling was the furthest thing on his mind until he saw One Wrestle Movement programming. He was appalled by the lack of respect within the new generation of pro wrestlers towards the past generations that paved the road for them. This lack of respect re-ignited his passion for pro wrestling and he decided to train and sign with 1WM. Now, Erick's interested in expanding his impact outside of 1WM to Global Championship Wrestling.
