SHOTGUN 6.10 RESULTS

Post by Jazmyn Rain » Sat May 27, 2017 3:49 pm

I hear, a voice say "Don't be so blind"
It's telling me all these things
That you would probably hide
Am I, your one and only desire
Am I the reason you breathe
Or am I the reason you cry?

Always, always, always, always, always, always,
I just can't live without you...

I love you
I hate you
I can't get around you.

I breathe you
I taste you
I can't live without you.

I just can't take anymore
This life of solitude
I guess that I'm out the door
And now I'm done with you.

I feel, like you don't want me around
I guess I'll pack all my things
I guess I'll see you around
It's all, been bottled up until now
As I walk out your door
All I can hear is the sound

Always, always, always, always, always, always,
I just can't live without you...

I love you
I hate you
I can't get around you.

I breathe you
I taste you
I can't live without you.

[Shotgun opens up at ringside where ring announcer Robert E. Lee is standing by.]

Lee: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the GCW World Heavyweight Champion… Victoria Salinas!!!!

[The crowd explodes with raucous cheers as ‘Feel Invincible’ by Skillet hits and the World Champion walks through the curtains with the championship around her waist and her spirits high. She wastes no time at all getting to the ring, greeting some fans along the way. She heads inside of the ring and grabs the microphone from the ring announcer as the music dies down. The fans continue to erupt with cheers as Victoria stands in the center of the ring, thinking about what to say. After a minute or two, she begins to express her thoughts.]

Victoria: Thank you all so much for that! Resurrection was one of the most amazing nights of my entire life. Isabella Harker gave me a challenge of my career and I had to reach deep down inside to places I never knew existed to pull out that win and complete my final goal of leaving Resurrection STILL the GCW World Heavyweight Champion!

[The fans cheer as Victoria unhooks the title from around her waist and raises it in the air for the fans to see, before putting it over her shoulder and continuing.]

Victoria: Now, don’t worry. I’m not going to keep this much longer than three minutes…

[Victoria pauses as the crowd is heard laughing.]

Victoria: But wow… what a journey it has been. It was just 12 months ago when I was on a downward spiral, but I came out of that downward spiral a better and stronger wrestler and person than ever before and with the burning desire within me, I rose to the occasion again and again, finally regained the World Championship, got to Resurrection with the title, left Resurrection with the title and along the way, I became the champion that I promised all of you I would be when I regained this. I’ve set my goals for this reign and after Resurrection, I can proudly say I’ve accomplished them all. So, that being said, what’s left to do? I’ve done everything in this reign that I’ve wanted to do and it’s been an incredible ride, a ride that I am honored to have had each and every one of you involved with along the way. All that’s left for me to do is to continue to become that champion that I’ve been, day after day after day as long as this title is with me and trust me when I say that I am not taking it for granted. Tonight, I’m right back into the fire, defending this championship against Brookford, the unlikeliest of challengers, yes, but you better believe that I am going to be ready for that fight when….

Voice: “Oh god, will you SHUT UP ALREADY?!?!?!”

[The crowd boos quite loudly as Adrian Waters appears through the curtains with a microphone in hand. Victoria immediately rolls her eyes in annoyance as Adrian begins to make his way down the ramp.]

Adrian: “Oh boo hoo, you suffered through this, you suffered through that, blah blah blah! Redemption this, redemption that… I am damn near sick of you and your pathetic sob story, Victoria.

[The crowd keeps booing Adrian as he steps through the ropes and meets her face to face.]

Adrian: “To be quite honest, I’m tired of many things with Shotgun to the point where if I get drafted back to Livewire, that might actually be a blessing because I wouldn’t have to see your face every second Saturday anymore because what I am tired of the most, more than anything else here on Shotgun… is YOU being the GCW World Champion! Please spare the jokes of me having this ‘secret thing’ for you. After what happened with Utopia at Resurrection, I’ve got a renewed focus and that focus is simple! I’ll make your boyfriend’s life a living hell and then defeat you for the world title… that is… if I don’t get drafted back to Livewire and you happen to still be the champion after tonight. And by the way… what has Nate done to deserve a title shot before ME?!?!?! This is the most ridiculous…”

Victoria: Are you done yet?

[The fans erupt with cheers as Adrian becomes more upset.]

Victoria: Listen… we get it. You don’t like me. You’ve never liked me. You clearly believe in everything Myra has ever filled your head with about me and that’s fine but if you don’t like me being GCW World Champion so much… do something about it! You even mentioned it yourself, Adrian! You have that opportunity! You can win a world title shot tonight! Now that Utopia is gone, now that even Myra herself has told you to focus on your own problems and battles, you have the opportunity to step up and for ONCE be a man! I know what it’s like. I had to break the chains of the Slay Revolution to become the champion I am today, but all you ever do is complain, complain, complain! For someone that’s “Pure Genius”, you can never maintain your focus on ONE thing. So, I got a little challenge for you, Adrian. Tonight, for once in your life… be a MAN, you little BITCH!

[The crowd lets out an “ooooooh” sound as Adrian becomes furious.]

Victoria: And hell, whether you win or lose against Axl tonight, you can take a seat… actually no… as I used to once say on a regular basis… you can take SEVERAL fucking seats and witness what a real champion in this business is like because as long as you put your fiancee’s career above yours, you’ll always have a hard time being one!

[Adrian’s expression changes from that to laughter.]

Adrian: “Let me ask you this, Vicky. What if Axl wins tonight? Huh? Are you actually going to defend the title against him? Are you actually going to put your relationship and your love for that disgusting piece of trash aside to defend that title? To be honest, I don’t think you have it in you and there’s a part of me that is curious to find out. But you can stand there, acting like you’re one above the world, acting like you’re so perfect when all you once did was complain every time someone else other than you got a world title shot, but it doesn’t mean a thing to me. I don’t care about your battles with Julia Braddock. I don’t care about your battles with Isabella Harker. Neither of those two are me. My response to everything you just said to me? A warning! That’s right… a WARNING! Don’t push the wrong buttons with me, Victoria. Because I’m the kind of man that can take your psyche and tear it apart… piece… by piece… by piece… until you have nothing left! GCW has yet to witness my pure genius at its full potential and said genius goes well beyond having Jazmyn Rain locked up in an asylum for a weekend and having Chelsea Summers hypnotized! This goes well beyond padding my knee and elbow braces! If you want this to go any further, you are signing yourself up for a psychological, torturous, career suicide, Vicky! There is no length I wouldn’t go to, to take your little dream world you’re living in now and turn it into the worst nightmare of your life. So enjoy your reign while it lasts, good luck to you tonight and you better hope, Victoria, you’re not defending that title against me!”

[Before Victoria gets a chance to respond, Adrian drops the microphone and leaves to a chorus of boos. Victoria definitely looks a bit annoyed by what she just heard and she looks like she has something to say, but her anger grows as Adrian walks up the ramp and through the curtains. She maintains the look of anger in her eyes as the announce team speculates on what potentially Adrian Waters could be talking about.]

A new figure to GCW walks into shot. With her dark blue dyed hair, and the elaborate black mask covering her eyes, she would have been noticed before. She walks slowly down the hallway, her soft shoes shuffling on the tiles. She wears a blue ankle length linen dress that matches her hair colour, and a rusksack is slung over her shoulder. Beneath the mask, her face is pensive, and she frequently looks down at a piece of paper in her hand, either to consult it, or to make sure that it is really there.

This is Masque, the latest arrival to GCW. Even though her expression is pensive, her step is quite bouncy, but she's not paying 100% attention to where she is going. From another corridor comes a figure who rudely shoulder checks Masque. Madame Santos.

Santos: Watch where you're going!

Masque: You first?

Santos: Don't you know who I am?

Masque: Should I?

Santos turns to face Masque, and visibly takes her in from head to toe.

Santos (sneering): Well, you must be Masque, the sacrificial lamb.

Masque (looking politely puzzled): And you are?

Santos: Madame Santos, the next star of GCW!

Masque: Nice to meet you. Looking forward to facing you in the ring.

Masque politely offers her hand. Madame Santos pointedly ignores it.

Santos: The pleasure is all yours, I'm sure, even if this match is an utter tragedy for someone of my calibre. But, this is my time to shine! You're nothing but a springboard to the resurrection of my glorious career! Once I pound you into the mat, Allison Mayberry will have no choice but to acknowledge that I am a superstar in the making, and sign me to a lucrative and exclusive contract. Once she sacks that wench Kayl, however, for daring to lay hands on me the way she did. I nearly feel sorry for you, Masque. Perhaps if you're a good girl and lie down for your betters, I may be persuaded to be merciful, and not end your fledgling career.

Santos walks off, nose in the air. Masque stares after her, head tilted in bewilderment.

Masque: Did that really just happen? Welcome to GCW, I guess.

Madame Santos vs Masque

[Madame Santos tried to jump on Masque as she got into the ring and she started to punch her repeatedly in the spine as the referee called for the bell. Masque was able to resist for a bit before Santos grabbed her by the wrist and whipped her into the ropes. Masque bounced back off the ropes but before Santos could react, Masque came out of nowhere with a spinning heel kick right to the jaw. Santos was knocked down and that was essentially all the offense she would get as Masque thoroughly dominated with strikes and kicks. Santos had no answer for a running forearm strike! She was also completely dazed with a running bicycle kick to the jaw! Masque would torture her with knee strikes to the sternum, a leaping calf kick to the head and a running enziguri, also to the side of the head. By the time Masque had unleashed a fair part of her offense, Madame Santos looked dazed as the fans cheered this dominance. Masque would then knock her down once more with the Don’t Open Your Eyes. Masque would then slowly measure Santos as she got to a vertical base. Masque would run at her and then nail her with the Forever! The Pele Kick nailed its target perfectly and the fans cheered as Masque dropped down and hooked the leg for the academic three count!]

WINNER: Masque

[Masque got up and took pride in her victory, though her celebration was a bit subdued. The fans definitely appreciated what they witnessed as they cheered her once her hand was raised. The announcers were talking about how once again, Madame Santos just couldn’t hack it but they were more than focused on Masque and the impressive array of offense that she would come to display in her GCW debut with her dominant, striking victory over her opponent. As Masque left the ring, they wondered what was to come for GCW’s mysterious new wrestler.]

[We cut backstage to find Izumi Sato kneeling on a yoga mat, deep in meditation. Hands on her calfs, eyes closed, she stays there motionless, silent, for several long moments. Then, taking in a deep breath, she exhales it slowly and opens her eyes before rising to her feet in one fluid motion.]

Izumi: Unlike my dear friend Hannah, I'm not returning to GCW as an unknown commodity. On the contrary, all you have to do is go a year back and dig up the few matches I had here to get a sense of what I'm all about. Sure I got a little wiser, a little more experienced, but other than that there hasn't been much I've changed over the past twelve months. I still use most of the same maneuvers, and still employ much the same strategy. There are no surprises with me. I'm not going to wow anyone with my wrestling prowess, because you've all seen it a few times in the past.

[Izumi turns and starts rolling up her yoga pad as she continues to speak.]

Izumi: Secondly, there's the matter of my abrupt departure the last go around.

[She shakes her head.]

Izumi: I'll be the first one to admit that I did it all wrong. I should've never left to begin with. But upon making the decision to move on, I should've done it right. I should have given my farewell to you fans, should've shown you the respect you deserve. Oh if I could only go back and do things over right. But I can't. There's no going back, and this isn't Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. So now I've got to live with my mistake, and step foot in the ring once more - only this time with a very big disadvantage.

[Izumi finishes rolling up her yoga pad, and tucks it under her arm before returning her gaze to the lens.]

Izumi: If Hayley Gold does her homework, she'll take note of the high level grappler I am. She'll be able to spot where I excel and where I stumble; and prepare herself for exploiting those weaknesses while minimizing my strengths. Plus, she'll be able to rely on that all important fan support, whereas I've got to win them over all over again. I've got to prove once and for all that I'm not just going to walk out unannounced after a few weeks, that I'm here for the long haul. I've got to reclaim my status as one of if not the best pure grappler in the world. That if you grapple with me, you will find yourself tied so tightly into knots that the only choice you have is to tap out. Tall order, right? But here's the thing.

[A bright grin spreads across her lips for possibly the first time since her return - well except that time she hung out with Hannah at Resurrection VI.]

Izumi: I may have blown my first impression, but you only get one chance to make things right. This is my chance. Hayley Gold, this match with you is the first chance I've got to turn heads anew. It's the first chance I've got to change minds, to prove I'm not just a wash out. I know it's going to be tough. Heck, it'll probably be even tougher than if I was coming in here for the first time facing you. But redemption is a powerful motivator, Hayley, and I'm determined to redeem myself in GCW's eyes. So while the deck is stacked heavily against me...

[She shakes her head, long black ponytail swishing this way and that.]

Izumi: I plan to take full advantage of this opportunity, rather than look a gift horse in the mouth. Make no mistake, I have no animosity towards you, Hayley. Nor will I arrogantly proclaim victory before we even step foot in the ring together. But if this is the first step on my path to redemption, then I've got to make the most of it - win or lose.

[She turns and starts heading for the edges of the camera's vocal range, but then stops - her back still turned to it.]

Izumi: Though...

[She looks over her shoulder, a smirk on her lips and a gleam in her eye.]

Izumi: I would much prefer victory over defeat.

[With that she turns and is gone out of view as we cut away.]

Hayley Gold vs Izumi Sato

[Hayley Gold was looking to get back on track in GCW. Izumi Sato was looking to make her return a successful one. When the bell rang, both shook hands out of respect and let their wrestling do the talking and the beginnings of the match were largely chain wrestling sequences with neither woman getting a clear advantage over the other. Both women spent the early part of the match countering whatever the other brought to the table. This chain wrestling back and forth affair would culminate when Sato rolled up gold into a pinfall attempt, but at two, Hayley rolled up Sato and returned the favor, then Sato did the same again, then Hayley did the same again and Sato straight kicked out. The fans applauded this exchange, but it would be Hayley Gold in control after that last pinfall for a little bit. Hayley was definitely showboating when she had the chance, particularly after she dropped Sato with an STO. However, Sato kicked out at two at the ensuing pinfall. Hayley showboated some more as she went to the top rope and went for a moonsault, only for the moonsault itself to be blocked by Sato. From there, Izumi would be in control and she wouldn’t let up. She started breaking down Hayley with some knife edge chops before she followed up with Judo throws and leg takedowns. Once Hayley recovered after a double leg takedown, a bulldog neckbreaker would follow. Sato covered, but Hayley kicked out. Sato went airborne with a Shirunai after that and then she got Hayley up only to knock her straight back down with the Uraken. Sato dragged Gold up and put her in position and… BUSHIDO! Some of the fans exploded out of their seats as Sato covered for the academic pinfall.]

WINNER: Izumi Sato

[The fans applauded as Sato got up to celebrate her victory that she was able to get tonight over a game Hayley Gold. The broadcast team talked about how one mistake essentially cost Gold and how Sato was able to take advantage of her frequent showboating. Gold was helped out of the ring and escorted up the ramp by the referee while Sato continued to celebrate with a highly approving crowd, obviously in great spirits after picking up a solid return victory tonight.]

(Allison Lorraine gracefully enters the arena, side by side with her tag team partner, The Ginger Enigma, who is skipping instead of walking gracefully.)

Enigma: ZOOT!

Allison: That’s right, Julia, “zoot”…though I’m not sure zoot is the right word. I’d say “merde” because we, the Ginger Nation, must face The Ginger Nation.

Enigma: Merde! Uh…

(Enigma scratches her chin.)

Enigma: Who is Julia?

(Allison chuckles.)

Allison: You are, sweetie.

Enigma: Oh yeah! Zippy!

Allison: And tonight, when we face Karina and Jenni, what are we going to do with them?

Enigma: SMOOSHED!

(Allison grins.)

Allison: That’s right, they’re going to get smooshed.

Controversy {Destiny Skye & Hannah Myers} vs Nirvana {Sierra and Melanie} vs Julia Braddock & JaMarcus Avery vs Wrestling Purity.

[This was definitely a tag team showcase for the ages, but unfortunately for Wrestling Royalty, so much of it came at their expense. Things were evenly matched for the other three teams as they didn’t gain too much of an advantage over each other, but Chagev and Dionisia pretty much took it all from everyone else. Dionisia was the victim of a massive powerslam by JaMarcus Avery. JaMarcus made the cover, but Melanie broke it up. Chagev was on the receiving end of an unforgiving corkscrew moonsault by Sierra, who would make the cover, but it would be Hannah Myers breaking up the pinfall. Dionisia took a second rope springboard snapmare from Hannah, who made the cover, but it would be Julia Braddock making the save this time. Things wouldn’t get much easier for Chagev, as Julia brought him down with a handspring cutter! Julia covered but Sierra broke things up this time. Dionisia would take an Asai DDT from Melanie, who made the cover, but Destiny made the save. Chagev took a springboard backbreaker from Destiny Skye, who made the cover, but JaMarcus made the save this time around. All in all, Wrestling Royalty got no love from any of their opponents as they even started being hit with double team moves! Backbreaker/running moonsault combo from Nirvana! Electric chair facebuster combo from Julia and JaMarcus! Bulldog/springboard moonsault combo from Controversy! And then once Wrestling Royalty finally got out of dodge, the three teams fought each other. Destiny fought Melanie. Sierra fought JaMarcus and Hannah fought Julia. Sierra went for a moonsault… SPEARED IN MID-AIR BY JAMARCUS! Sierra rolled out of the ring. Springboard forearm smash by Melanie to Destiny! Destiny rolled out of the ring! Destiny then fought JaMarcus. He had her ready for a powerbomb, but Melanie countered with a hurricanrana sending herself and JaMarcus over and out. It came down to Hannah and Julia, and the latter was in total command after nailing Hannah with a vicious Northern lights. An ensuing pinfall attempt occurred, but Hannah kicked out. Julia picked up Hannah, about to set her up for the Queen’s Ransom when she spotted… GLORY BRADDOCK… in the front row! She got up and flashed a ticket, indicating that she bought one. This distraction caused Julia to change her strategy and to have her set up for the Glorification instead. Glory dared Julia to come by and fight her. Julia screamed at her to leave her alone. She looked to hit the Glorification there, but then suddenly Hannah countered with an inside cradle and the referee made the count and… JULIA WOULD NOT KICK OUT!!!!!!]

WINNERS: Controversy!

[The fans exploded with cheers as Hannah immediately sprung up and celebrated what was surely a huge win for her. Julia sat on the mat, her jaw dropped in shock as she watched Hannah roll out of the ring to celebrate with a recovering Destiny Skye. A happy Controversy backed up the ramp, clearly ecstatic with their win, but Julia’s shock turned into total anger. She slowly stood up as Glory kept challenging her. Julia was about to do just that, but JaMarcus got back in the ring to grab her from behind to keep her from going anywhere. The fans booed this, realizing that there would be no physical confrontation tonight. JaMarcus helped Julia out of the ring to continue to calm her down, but this didn’t stop her from staring angry daggers at Glory as they went to the back with the commentators mentioning that turnabout is fair play!]

“I’m Bad" by LL Cool J plays as BROOKFORD steps through the curtain. He stands at the top soaking in the positive reaction from the crowd, they are showing him their appreciation for the role he played in the downfall of the Utopia. Done soaking in the moment, BROOKFORD walks down to the ring with a mic in his hand on a mission. He is not accustomed to cutting these in ring promos very often, it’s clear he has something on his mind. What stands out even more, he is without Ian Mckinnon who usually shares the promo duties with him. BROOKFORD slides under the bottom rope. He walks to the middle of the ring. With his free hand he makes a motion that signals he wants his music cut. After the last of the crowd response dies down, BROOKFORD puts the mic to his lips.

BROOKFORD: Never thought you’d see the day I’d come out here speaking about my chances to become World Champion. I wouldn’t be mad at you. Up until December of last year when Darian picked me to be his partner at the End Year Bash, I was content staying on the sidelines. That changed when Adrian sold his soul to a narcotic skirt. All I cared about was revenge. All I dreamt about was getting my pound of flesh. I got that two weeks ago. Utopia died, yadayada. That problem has been solved. Lets move on.

That’s the perfect segway actually. For the bulk of my career I fashioned myself as a problem solver. Ian and Trenton needed me to help them break out of SWC. Problem solved. Trenton and Adrian needed me to ensure what was best for business. Problem once again solved. Kellen Jeffries paid me to do a job. I did it. We go back a few more years, The Odyssey and The God Complex had a little thing going. Sure you notice a pattern.

[BROOKFORD pauses a moment to let the crowd ponder what he is saying.]

BROOKFORD: By design, my career has never truly been my own. All I cared about was beating people up. I didn’t have goals of destruction like some men or inflicting chaos like the other guy on Livewire. I like to help people. And I like to get paid. Nothing wrong with that, right? If you’re good at a job, do it. And then Allison Mayberry decided to give me a shot at the World Championship. Do I deserve it? Probably not. But it did make me think about everything I just told yall about me dealing with other people's problems.

Tonight that changes. Victoria, listen and listen close. I don’t think you are a problem to GCW. There are a few people on the roster who don’t like you, namely a common enemy of ours, aside from that, you have gone about doing exactly what you promised, redeeming yourself from the first reign you probably don’t want to talk about. I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t want to talk about it either. I did mention it somewhat to show how far you have come. From being Ms. Vainglorious to a respectable champion who represents the brand well. Tonight is not about solving GCW’s problem. No one is calling a hit on you, our common enemy might, I wouldn’t take his money. I have standards.

Later on it's about solving a different problem. You have something I want. While I may not hop on social media like most of the wrestlers in our business reminding the world every tenth second what their career goals are. And I am definitely not showcased every show speaking about what he wants, I am just like most of the wrestlers when it all comes down to it. We all want to be World Champion for our own assortment of reasons.

Mine is simple. A, I want to be champion. B, holding that title ensures a much bigger payday. What can I say, Trenton rubbed off on me. I do take care of problems for money, not that hard to figure out. In a perverse way, I hope Adrian wins tonight. Me winning, Adrian winning, I get to deny him the chance to become champion, rubbing it in his face would put a smile on mine.

[BROOKFORD cracks a smile as the crowd continues to get behind him.]

BROOKFORD: But first things first. I can only control what happens on my end. So Victoria, nothing personal. You’re a great champion. One of the best, no question. I have every intention on tonight belonging to yours truly. I am the biggest problem you have faced during your reign, you said it yourself on Twitter, I pose a different challenge than the rest.

We want to believe there is an answer to every problem. You’ve watched tape. Studied me. Have your theory. That’s nice. I have done the same prep work you have likely done on me, but here’s the thing. Some problems don’t have an answer. No matter how much you’ve studied, or the hell you’ve gone through with confidence, later on, I plan on being the one problem you can’t solve. You figured out the code to beat men and women who were former World Champions in their own right. I’m a different beast. I’m focused. I’m hungry. Victoria, I am one problem you won’t be able to solve. Good luck. With all due respect, you’ll need it.

[BROOKFORD drops the microphone. The announcers are discussing among themselves how they have never seen BROOKFORD this fired up in his career. That he sounds determined. They both agree the main event will be a good one.]

[Shotgun fades to the locker room where the first shot is a television screen that is playing. It’s showing the end highlights of Karina Lysenko destroying Karen McBride at the end of the match and then after the match itself. There is some snickering and laughing going on as the camera pans to reveal Karina Lysenko and her bodyguard Vladimir standing by and watching this.]

Karina: So beautiful…

[Karina chuckles]

Karina: So… SO beautiful… that WHORE is now a thing of the past! I must say it was the most wonderful moment of my career, isn’t that right, Vlad?

[Vladimir says nothing.]

Karina: And yet, I am not fully happy. Why am I not fully happy? Oh that’s right… Ginger Nation FAILED ME!!!! It’s splintered! It’s gone! It’s DONE and it’s all the fault of DESTINY SKYE for meddling in EVERYTHING!!!! Ginger Nation meant everything to me! And now it’s gone! Okay, it’s not REALLY gone, but the Ginger Nation that I knew and loved IS and it’s not FAIR! Tonight, when I team up with Jenni, it’ll be one last goodbye to my beloved nation!

Voice: It’s okay, Miss Lysenko! You can just start building up your own and conquer either Livewire or Shotgun, depending on how this whole draft thing goes!

[Karina looks annoyed as a young lady, a blonde, walks into the picture.Once Karina is in her sights, the blonde drops to her knees and kisses her hand.]

Karina: You know you’re just auditioning to be my minion and you might not have the job yet, right?

Minion: Yes, but I respect and admire everything you’ve ever had to overcome to get from the purgatory to where you are now! And while you may not have Ginger Nation anymore, everything that you ever learned from them is going to serve you well in the future. You are such a magnificent creature, Miss Lysenko! You are about to ascend to the glory that someone like you has always deserved!

Karina: Yes, of course! Stand up, please!

[The female minion does just that.]

Karina: I say goodbye to the Ginger Nation by CONQUERING THEM and tonight that’s what’s going to happen. I mean, after all, they have the ENIGMA on the other side. THE ENIGMA!

[Karina, Vladimir and the unnamed minion all laugh. Karina and Vladimir don’t laugh for long, but the minion keeps it going much to their annoyance.]

Karina: Okay, you can stop laughing now!

Minion: Sorry. But… the ENIGMA…. HAHAHAHAHA!

Karina: Right… she was always useless! No worries though, Jenni and I are going to take care of business. In fact, I am very confident that we’re going to take care of business so easily that I’m not going to need either one of you at ringside. After all, this match is basically a glorified handicap match in MY favor! So, you two enjoy yourselves and… I’ll conquer Ginger Nation’s remains!

[A highly confident Karina Lysenko walks out of the locker room, leaving her backup behind. The crowd boos her as the scene fades to black.]

Jenni Anderson and Karina Lysenko vs Allison and Ginger Enigma

[The Ginger Nation implosion match as some would call it was definitely an entertaining affair as Jenni and Allison would be the two that started the match. Allison definitely showed a bit of a bitter streak considering the experience she went through when she was forced into Ginger Nation to begin with and Jenni took full advantage of her anger, outpacing her and setting the tone in the early going. Jenni brought down Allison with a bulldog and got the first cover, but Allison kicked out. Karina was tagged in and feeling betrayed by Allison, she went into a total rage against her, tossing her around the ring, but unfortunately for her, Allison landed on her feet after a german suplex attempt and Allison took control, flying around the ring and confusing the hell out of Karina. This aerial rally culminated when Allison leaped off the top rope and brought Karina down with a suicide plancha into a pinfall attempt that Karina had to kick out of. Allison would tag the Enigma in. Enigma went for a top rope splash, but Karina blocked it. Karina, sick of Enigma, beat her around the ring for a bit, getting a cover via a belly to back suplex, but Enigma rolled the shoulder out. From here, Jenni and Karina would constantly switch out, wearing out Enigma. A double vertical suplex, a double powerbomb and a double STO left Enigma laying. Karina covered, but Allison broke it up. Jenni ran in to neutralize Allison and both went flying out of the ring. Karina spent the next few minutes dominating Enigma as their partners got back to their corners. However, a facebuster out of nowhere by Enigma stemmed the tide as both had to tag in. Enigma got the tag in on Allison. However… JENNI HOPPED OFF THE APRON AND WENT BACK UP THE RAMP! Karina was stunned by this as Allison pounced on her and went after her. Allison took total command for a few minutes. Allison tried to culminate it with a superkick, but a desperate Karina tossed the referee in the way and he got knocked out. Karina back suplexed Allison then Enigma pounced on her back. Karina threw Enigma down to the mat. With the referee down, Karina left to grab a chair. Karina slid inside and smacked Enigma right on the head with it as she got up. Karina went to the other side of the ring and measured Allison, looking to do the same to her. But, before she could swing it, the chair was snagged from behind by DESTINY SKYE! Karina was livid about this as Skye left the ring with the chair and checked on Enigma. Allison then nailed Karina with the buzzsaw kick to the back of the head as the referee began to stir. Allison got to the top rope and… EYE OF THE TIGER! The referee recovered to see the pinfall and the fans cheered loudly as he made the three count!]

WINNERS: Allison Lorraine & The Enigma

[Allison got up and her first concern was for Enigma as she went to see if she was okay. Once she and Destiny helped Enigma up and it became clear that she was, the pair celebrated the win that they just got as the announcers made note of Jenni Anderson abandoning Karina Lysenko and began to wonder why she would do such a thing. Though, they weren’t expressing any sympathy at all for Karina Lysenko and the plight that she found herself in as they wondered how she’d respond to this. Nonetheless, Allison and Enigma were in great spirit as they walked up the ramp with their hard fought win. Destiny wasn’t too far behind, but once Karina came to, all she could do was glare at her with vicious anger in her eyes.]

Post match, and a visibly exhilarated Masque sits on the floor backstage, her legs pulled up to her chest. She twists a pen in her fingers, and balances a postcard against her knees. The camera pans in tightly over her shoulder, as she begins to write.

Dearest Brother

I hope that you saw that match. My first match. Feels like a bit of a milestone. Was this the way you felt when you walked away from Dad? I know that if he knew what I was doing he would have a conniption, and defying him gives me an illicit thrill. Between that, and the thrill of competition, it feels like I'm flying, with no safety net beneath me. I wish you were here to share that with me.

I miss you so much. I'll never stop looking for you, I promise.

Karina: What a bunch of BULLSHIT!!!!!!

[Karina is extremely pissed off as she’s in the catering area flipping table after table after table!]

Karina: That was NOT supposed to happen!!!!

[Karina is clearly incensed with her loss as she continues to flip tables over. Vladimir is in the distance, standing like a statue and watching everything happen. Suddenly, the minion from earlier approaches Karina and tries to calm her down.]

Minion: Miss Lysenko… if I may…

Karina: BE QUIET!!!!

Minion: I know you’re upset and all, but you know this can be fixed. I mean, this wouldn’t have happened if Jenni Anderson didn’t abandon you!

Karina: I don’t care about that! I don’t care about Ginger Nation! Ginger Nation is DEAD to me now! From this moment forward, I will not acknowledge their existence! From here on out, it isn’t about Ginger Nation, it’s about ME!!!! It’s about the Red Queen! Whether it’s Livewire or whether it’s Shotgun, I am going to rise to be the master and ruler of the entire GCW universe! From here on henceforth, I am the QUEEN OF ALL GINGERS!!!!

Minion: Yes, Miss Lysenko… yes you are! The Red Queen! The Queen of all Gingers! But you know, it wasn’t just Jenni… it was…

Karina: THAT BITCH!!!!!

Minion: Yes… that….

[Karina flips over an entire table that consisted of meats like roast beef and chicken, with plates falling all over the floor.]

Karina: This… is… WAR!!!! I declare WAR on Destiny Skye! I will conquer her just like I conquered Karen McBride! It’s because of HER that I lost tonight!

[Karina walks over to the fruit punch table where Vladimir is waiting for her. Her minion follows her.]

Karina: So… we must send her a message… a warning shot if you will!

Minion: YES! We WILL! What’s on your mind, my precious?

Karina: A sacrifice! Vlad?

[Karina snaps her fingers and Vladimir stands beside her.]

Minion: Nice! So, who are we going to sacrifice? Madame Santos? The Great Ba-Belle? Crystal Swift? Total Emissary?

Karina: No… I’m looking right at it….

Minion: Huh?!?!?! Wait…

Karina: Vlad?

[She snaps her fingers again.]

Karina: Execute her!

Minion: Miss Lysenko… you must be making a mistake… please recon…. Arrrgh… my… throat…

[Vladimir picks up the minion and chokeslams her right through the punch table causing gallons of punch and a significant amount of broken glass to fall on her as she splits the table in two.]

Karina: Her blood is on YOUR hands, Destiny Skye!!!! Time to find a new minion…

[Karina turns and leaves the scene, her enforcer not too far away. The poor woman is left in wood, glass and fruit punch remains as the scene fades.]

Heritage Championship
Travis Vessey vs Dominic Baine [c]

[Finally, the two arch rivals had a chance to meet one on one in Baine’s first championship defense! Once the bell rang, the gloves came off as the two spent the opening moments in the match in a slugfest with both guys trying to beat the crap out of each other. At first, Baine was in control, slugging Vessey into the corner. But a blocked punch by the challenger changed the momentum and Vessey then slugged Baine into an adjacent corner, being in control until Mike Michaels came from behind and grabbed him by the leg. This momentary distraction was enough for Baine to take command and Baine went completely technical on Vessey. Baine relied on a suplex game to wear out his rival, particularly a series of Germans, followed by a belly to belly and then a gutwrench. Baine went for the cover after the latter, but Vessey was able to kick out. Baine had a half-Boston crab locked on, but Vessey was able to counter it. Vessey then took control after that, relying on a power game initially. Baine was the victim of a sidewalk slam. Vessey would then follow up with moves like a running spinebuster and an Alabama slam! Vessey would go for the cover, but Baine would kick out. Vessey then went to submissions himself. He maintained control with submissions ranging from a camel clutch and culminating with a rearnaked choke. Baine elbowed his way out of the latter. They both got up and Vessey would attempt a clothesline, but Baine countered with an armdrag. Baine regained control, grounding and pounding Vessey! Baine’s offense would continue to maintain momentum when he gave him a flapjack! Baine then picked Vessey up and drove him into the turnbuckles with the Jarring Halt! Baine dragged Vessey to the center of the ring and went for the pin, but Vessey kicked out. Baine then tried going for the International Treaty by trying to get him up, but Vessey countered with a back body drop and made a furious rally of his own. Vessey nailed lariat after lariat as the crowd got behind him a bit. Vessey would hit a deadlift German suplex then went to the top rope! VESSEY SAULT! Vessey would go for the cover, but Baine would kick out at two! Vessey measured Baine as he got himself up using the ropes. Baine turned around, leaning on them. Mike Michaels then tripped up Baine and pulled him out of the ring as the fans booed! Michaels told Baine to go up the ramp and leave, and that’s precisely what he began to do as the referee started a 10 count. Vessey knew what was up and wasn’t going to have it. He left the ring to catch up with Baine, but Mike Michaels stood in his way as Baine went through the curtains and two the back. Mike taunted him, before giving Vessey a low blow! Obviously, the referee saw this before he could get to 10 on the count and called for the bell!]

WINNER (by DQ): Travis Vessey

HOWEVER…. STILL GCW Heritage Champion: Dominic Baine

[Vessey was on his knees as the fans booed the extremely dirty trick Mike Michaels just did to screw Vessey out of the Heritage Championship. Vessey slowly recovered and Mike Michaels just laughed at him all the way as he got up. Vessey looked down on the mat for a bit and overheard the laughter. When Vessey saw him, he noticed Michaels pointing at him and laughing at him. Vessey then became pissed, then booted Michaels in the gut, lifted him up and release powerbomb onto the floor! The fans erupted with cheers as an understandably angry Travis Vessey walked up the ramp and to the back. The announcers stated that Mike had it coming for what he did and how it was a damn shame that Travis had an opportunity for pure revenge on Baine, but was denied it and the fans were possibly denied closure tonight as far as the feud between Baine and Vessey were concerned. The broadcast table wondered how Travis’s actions just now would fan the flames of the war as other referees came down the ramp to assist the powerbombed Mike Michaels.]

Backstage, Roderick Osborn stands next to Adrian Waters. Waters is in his ring geer, and, as usual, does not look very happy.

Roderick: "Tonight we have a rubber match, if you will, between Axl Austin and Adrian Waters. These two men fight to determine who will become the number one contender to the GCW World Championship. How is your state of mind after losing to Axl and his team at Resurrection, Adrian?"

Adrian gives Osborn the evil eye, but to his credit, Roderick doesn't back down.

Adrian: "First of all, Asshole Austin did NOT defeat me at Resurrection! The only reason we lost that match is because of those two stupid bitches. End of subject."

Roderick: "But, he..."

Adrian: "What part of 'end of subject' do you not understand Osborn?!?! I'm sick and tired of everyone gloating about the downfall of Utopia! I'm tired of Asshole Austin and his fat ass girlfriend! I'm tired of the bullshit Myra and I have to deal with on a constant basis just because we decided that things needed to change and the holier-than-thou do-gooder 'heroes' in this fucking company decided they didn't want change....because Osborn, they are threatened by us."

Roderick: "Threatened?"

Adrian: "Yes, Osborn...threatened! Myra and I are the true super-couple of GCW...why else did they be sure to split us up between the two brands? It's all politics Osborn. We don't play by their rules, so we can't be allowed to succeed."

Roderick: "Well, you have it all figured out then."

For the first time in this interview, Adrian smirks.

Adrian: "That's right. I've known this for a long time. I'm not surprised I had to spell it out to you, though. I am tired of it. But, for whatever reason, someone in the front office has a brain cell and decided to give me a shot to become the number one contender to the World title. Of course, they also decided that, to discourage me, they'd put me in the ring with Austin. That's fine. I've beaten him before, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will beat him again. I'm smarter than him and I'm smarter than the powers who thought they could stop my advancement by putting me up against him. I am, after all, pure genius."

[Shotgun fades to the locker room moments before Axl Austin is to take on Adrian Waters in a number one contender’s match. Axl is seen taping his wrists, making his final preparations for the match when his fiancee, GCW World Champion Victoria Salinas, walks in wearing a look of concern on her face.]

Victoria: Awkward, isn’t it?

[Axl looks up at Victoria, noticing her.]

Axl: What’s awkward? The fact that you might have to defend your title against me?

Victoria: More or less.

Axl: If that ends up happening, I don’t want you half assing it for me. I want you to give me everything you have. Can you make that promise?

Victoria: Yeah, I can.

Axl: Good, but to be perfectly honest with you Vix, the contendership is the least of my worries right now. I’m obviously not going to turn down the opportunity or downplay it, but as you know, Adrian and I have been going at it for what seems like forever now. Some of the stuff he’s said about you… I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I know I can take care of him. I beat him one on one on Shotgun a while back, I eliminated him at Resurrection, but tonight, I plan on putting the finishing touches on this whole thing. This match is more for you, than it is for me or for the title shot because I can’t bear the thought of him beating me to get to you. If that happens… I’m not sure I could live with myself.

Victoria: Axl, don’t say that. You know that my feelings for you aren’t going to change whether you beat him tonight or not. I know you two have had this heated thing going on for months, but I trust that you’re going to pull through just as much as I trust that I’M going to pull through and retain my title tonight against a very game Brookford. Does that mean we’d have to face each other? Well, to be fair, not exactly. You could end up being drafted to Livewire and facing Aphrodite Noel for the Global title instead.

Axl: Be honest with me, Vix. That’s what you’d prefer, wouldn’t you?

[Victoria doesn’t answer right away, being caught off guard by that question.]

Victoria: I never said that.

Axl: No, but I know deep down, you wouldn’t want to defend the title against me.

Victoria: I know it sounds bad but…

Axl: No worries. I know your heart’s in the right place. For you, the best case scenario is me winning this match, then being drafted to Livewire so the two of us are both world champions in GCW. Say we both win tonight, and I DON’T get drafted. You and I both know what that means, and I more than anyone know how much that title means to you. I know how much it would hurt for you to lose it. I don’t want to be the one that hurts you, Vix. Maybe it’d be a good idea if…

Victoria: No… don’t go there. Don’t even THINK of suggesting that you wait until I lose the title so you can get your shot. This is a business at the end of the day and whatever comes out of this night, comes out of this night. If I have to defend the title against you, so be it. I’m not shying away from any challenger, even if such a challenger is you, Tim, Jazmyn or anyone in this company that I’m close to. Simply put, as far as tonight goes, you do what you got to do, I’ll do what I got to do, and we let everything else take care of itself.

Axl: Sounds good to me!

[Victoria and Axl give each other a hug for a brief moment.]

Victoria: Good luck out there!

[Axl nods and leaves the locker room with his match coming up in a few moments. Victoria sits down on the locker room, still wearing a look of concern on her face as the scene fades.]

#1 Contenders Match
Axl Austin vs. Adrian Waters

This is what many people are calling the rubber match between these two men after Austin helped eliminate Adrian from the match that ultimately caused the collapse of Utopia at Resurrection. Tonight, however, it is one on one, and the winner will be the #1 contender to the GCW World Championship currently held by Victoria Salinas.

There was some jawing between the two as the bell rang, which led to shoving...then a right hook from Adrian that Axl blocked before body slamming Waters to the canvas! Austin followed this up with a leg drop, then threw Adrian into the corner where Axl rained punches down on his foe's head, quitting just before the referee reached the end of a five count. Austin hip-tossed Waters out of the corner, and Adrian immediately rolled out to the floor.

Adrain started pacing around the ring as the official started a count out. When it appeared Adrian would re-enter the squared circle, he suddenly turned and started to walk towards the back. Angered, Axl stopped the ref's count and went after Waters, picking him up in a fireman's carry back to the ring! The fans were loving this, as well as the next few minutes that Austin dominated Adrian with a mostly arial attack, including a missle drop-kick and a 360 splash.

Once he was able to, Waters rolled out of the ring again, and to the annoyance of everyone, he started to leave the arena again. Like the last time, Axl went after him, but Adrian, sensing his pursuer, grabbed an umbrella from a fan, turned, and cracked Axl in the head with it! Adrian sneered down at Austin before dropping the umbrella and steered Axl back to the ring. After shoving Axl in under the bottom rope, Adrian once again started to leave the arena, and the referee started yet another countout. Adrian was half way up the aisle when Shotgun General Manager Allison Mayberry appeared on the stage to a pop from the fans.

Allison: "Stop the count...and hold it right there, Mr. Waters!"

Adrian halted where he was, staring daggers at Mayberry.

Allison: "It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I know what you're up to Adrian. I have to hand it to you, you always have something up your sleeve. Tell me, though, Adrian, why do you want Axl to win the contender's match so badly? Is it because you want to see this beloved couple at odds when they have to go up against each other...or is it because you are afraid of Victoria Salinas?"

The audience lets out a collective gasp and Adrin is beet red, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

Allison: "You don't have to answer that. However, I am not going to let this match end like that. Therefore, I am changing the rules a little. This match will now be no disqualification, no countouts, and falls will count anywhere!"

The crowd roars with approval as Adrian is livid, shouting and throwing things. He is so enraged, he isn't aware of the fact that Axl Austin is right behind him, and when Adrian turns around, Austin levels him with a spear! Axl gets Waters to his feet, but Adrian manages a low blow as he rises. Adrian starts to hit Axl repeatedly, but Austin starts to fight back, the two involved in a all-out slug-fest.

They work their way backstage, where Waters shoves Roderick Osborn to the floor before taking his microphone. The mic is turned off, which is a blessing when Adrian cracks Axl in the head with it before he starts to choke Austin out with the chord. Axl is able to break free with a jawbreaker. Both men get slowly to their feet, and Austin connects with "Kickflip!" He makes a cover, and it appears Adrian has forgotten his plan, as he kicks out.

The two men continue to brawl, making their way to the parking lot. Waters performs a Russian leg sweep that causes Axl to smash face first into the pavement. Waters then lifts Axl for a pile driver, looking to cause severe damage to him, but Axl back-body drops Adrian on the hood of a car! Austin then climbs up on to the hood, where the two start to hit each other again, making their way to the car's roof. Waters drives a knee into Axl's crotch, then goes to suplex Axl off of the car. Axl is able to hook Adrian's leg, blocking the attempt, however, then DDT's Adrian on the car roof! Adrian slides off of the car to the pavement. Austin looks down at Adrian's prone figure, then goes for his own version of the "Super Smart Elbow"...but Adrian was playing possum! Axl holds his arm in agony as it smacks into the pavement and Waters wastes no time making a cover and getting the pin.

Winner: Adrian Waters

(Julia Braddock angrily storms into the office of General Manager Allison Mayberry.)

Julia: What the bloody hell was that?!

Allison: Greetings to you too, Julia.

(Braddock growls.)

Julia: Not funny! I’m your top star! I made Glory Braddock tap out and that makes me The Best in the World! And yet you’re going to allow this travesty of justice to happen?!

Allison: What are you complaining about, Glory?

Julia: I got screwed! I should’ve won but Glory distracted me! Reverse the decision NOW and make me and JaMarcus the winners!

(Allison shakes her head.)

Allison: No.

Julia: At least fine her! She interfered in my match!

Allison: Wrong. She bought a ticket and that made her a paying customer. It isn’t her fault or mine that you got distracted by a paying customer. Besides, if you truly are The Best in the World…

Julia: I AM!

Allison: …then why are you asking me to solve this problem for you?

Julia: ARGH!!!!

(Julia angrily storms out of the office and slams the door shut behind her.)

The Sisterhood and Isabella Harker vs. Cody Lindberg-Knight, Chantelle Chambers and Christy Hightower

[As one would expect, everyone in this match had some form of motivation going for them going into it. The Sisterhood were looking to build off of the serious momentum that they got at Resurrection by becoming the unified tag team champions, Cody was trying to continue his dominance as X-Division Champion, Chantelle and Christy were looking to get themselves in the tag team title conversation and Isabella Harker was looking to rebound after a very close loss at Resurrection. Old rivals Isabella and Cody would start the match and things were back and forth for a bit before a cross body attempt by Isabella was caught by Cody who countered with a fallaway slam! Isabella got up, but the X-Division Champion was in control. After moves like a vertical suplex and a sidewalk slam, Cody went for the pin after the latter, but Isabella kicked out. Cody tagged in Christy and she went to the top rope looking for a diving headbutt. However, Isabella rolled out of the way and Christy got nothing but mat. This gave Isabella some breathing room to recover and eventually take control after an enziguri. Harker began to overpower Christy, keeping her at bay with power moves like a spinning fireman’s carry slam and a running spinebuster! Isabella would go for the cover after that, but Christy kicked out. Kayla Jones would be tagged in next and Kayla took command for a bit. She pinned Christy into the corner and went for a corner splash, but Christy blocked it with an elbow. Christy would be in control, relying on more of an aerial assault to keep Kayla down. A diving forearm from the top rope and a senton from the top would do just that as Christy got the cover after the senton, only for Kayla to kick out at two. Chantelle was tagged into the match and she slapped Kayla around a couple of times trying to showboat, but all this did was anger Kayla as she rallied and took Chantelle to school so to speak. Kayla went technical, ranging from moves like a tornado DDT and a wheelhouse kick to submissions like a cross armbreaker and a reverse chinlock. Kayla covered Chantelle after a double knee backbreaker, but Cody broke it up. Angelica was tagged in and after the Sisterhood knocked Chantelle down with a double clothesline, they went for a second only for Chantelle to duck it then to deliver a spear to Kayla. Chantelle would then put up a rally against Angelica, outclassing her with moves like a springboard cutter and a running snapmare. Of course, Chantelle added some showboating as she connected with these moves and made a cover, but Angelica kicked out. Cody was tagged back in. He went for a German, but Angelica landed on her feet. Angelica then gave Cody an enziguri to the back of the head. Angelica also went the submission route, trapping Cody in a Boston crab and a cobra clutch. But with a mixture of moves like a bicycle kick and a cross body, she was able to keep Cody down for a cover, but Christy broke up that pin. Things were evenly matched throughout, Isabella was the victim of the classic isolation tactic until she countered a powerbomb attempt by Christy into a facebuster! Kayla and Chantelle were both tagged in. The good guys were in control for a while, but ultimately a three on three brawl broke out. Things got more heated when Cody tried to clothesline Angelica, but she ducked and the referee got knocked out instead. Christy brought down Isabella with a snap suplex. The Sisterhood clotheslined Christy out of the ring. Kayla and Angelica took down Cody with a double dropkick. They measured him as he stood up. Cody got up and Isabella stood up behind him. The three worked together to lift him up and bring him down with a TRIPLE POWERBOMB! Cody rolled out of the ring. Isabella held up Chantelle. The Sisterhood went for a double superkick… CHANTELLE DUCKED! Isabella took it in the chin instead and was knocked out cold! Christy slid back in with one of the tag team championships and blasted Angelica in the back of the head. Kayla saw this and superkicked her right in the jaw after that. Christy dropped the title right in front of Kayla, but then Chantelle came in from behind and nailed Kayla with the BEVERLY HILLS BOMB right into the championship. Chantelle placed the title by Christy and rolled Christy onto the title to hide the evidence as the referee got up. Chantelle then crawled on Kayla and hooked the leg for the cover and the fans were irate as the three count was made.]

WINNERS: Chantelle Chambers, Christy Hightower and Cody Lindberg-Knight

[Cody slid into the ring and Chantelle got up to get her hand raised and the two of them were very happy with what they managed to pull off to the chagrin of the fans. Chantelle celebrated for a bit while Cody helped his dazed fiancee to her feet. The referee checked on Kayla, having no idea that Christy used the title to cheat and ultimately decide the outcome of the match. The announce team was not happy about the way the match was won, though they ultimately and reluctantly conceded that perhaps the trio put themselves into the tag team championship conversation with Chantelle scoring the pinfall over one half of the tag team champions.]

[Moments before the main event is scheduled to begin, Janice King is standing by with a microphone in her hands.]

Janice: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time is none other than the GCW World Heavyweight Champion… Victoria Salinas!

[The scene pans, revealing Victoria, which draws a hell of a lot of cheers, but the world champion herself is anything but cheery at the moment considering the night so far.]

Janice: Now, you definitely got the biggest win of your GCW career at Resurrection but there’s no rest for the wicked with you defending your championship in just a few moments against Brookford. Now, before we get to that, let’s talk about earlier tonight. We now know that Adrian Waters is now the #1 contender to the GCW World or Global Championship, pending the draft. How do you feel about the fact that he became so at Axl’s expense?

Victoria: What can I say? He found an opening and he pulled through to win. As much as I WANT to talk about Adrian, particularly some of the things that he had to say about me earlier tonight, I know that I can’t focus so much on that. Like you just mentioned, he might not even BE on Shotgun when we get back on the air in two weeks. All I know is, I have a championship defense in a few minutes against someone that is completely different from Isabella Harker and ever since Resurrection ended, that’s where most of my focus has been on. I know it hurts seeing Axl lose to Adrian in a situation like that, but as the GCW World Champion, I can’t let that get to me. I need to go into this match with Brookford with as much focus as possible, simple as that.

Janice: Now, Brookford, who isn’t known for being an elaborate speaker, definitely had some interesting words to say. Any thoughts on those?

Victoria: I know Brookford is what he is. He’s the ‘problem solver’ and he definitely had a hell of a performance at Resurrection. I can’t take that away from him. I can sympathize with him on his career path about being the guy whose career has never been his own. I can sympathize with wanting to break certain stigmas of being “parrots” and “sidekicks” of other people. And I know that’s exactly what is motivating him tonight. He knows just as well as everyone else knows that opportunities like this don’t come around very often and if he doesn’t cash in tonight, god knows when he’ll cash in next. I remember the feeling when I challenged Michael McKay for the world title and that got robbed from me by Tina and it would be more than a year before I got my next shot at the title. I remember having that shot at Survival of the Fittest and falling short, not knowing when I was going to get another try. But fortunately, I capitalized on a number one contender’s match defeating Chantelle, I capitalized on another chance defeating Julia for the title, and now here we are! So even though I admit that it may not look like it when you consider his GCW career and mine side by side, I get it! I know where he comes from. He’s NOT going to be easy, all things considered.

Janice: After that incredible match with Harker at Resurrection, it’s fair to wonder how much you have left in you two weeks after the fact. There’s no denying that your title defense against her took so much out of you. So… that in consideration… do you have anything left for Brookford?

Victoria: Janice… I KNOW I have enough left for him.

Janice: But how MUCH do you have left?

Victoria: Janice, that doesn’t matter to me, to be honest. You can make the argument that my body still needs to recover from Resurrection considering the grueling match I had with Isabella. You can even argue that it could very well work against me and cost me the GCW World Championship tonight. But at the end of the day, how much I have left from a physical standpoint isn’t the most important thing here. What’s really important is what I have left in HERE… *points to heart*. What’s truly important is how much burning desire I have left in me to walk out of here once again still the GCW World Champion! So you want to know how much is left in my heart? You want to know how much burning desire is still left in me? For both questions… PLENTY! Nothing against Brookford, I know he wants this bad, but he doesn’t want it as bad as I do. Just because I’ve set out to accomplish everything I wanted to do in this title run doesn’t mean I’m going to slack off. I am not going to lie down for anyone and just give this championship away. I have no excuse to be complacent tonight. As far as I’m concerned, Janice, the problem I have to solve tonight?

It’s a BIG problem, I know this!

But it’s not a problem I can’t overcome and tonight, I WILL overcome just like I’ve done on my road back to the championship and every challenge I’ve met since I regained this to begin with!

Janice: That’s a great way to put it. Good luck tonight!

Victoria: Thank you!

[Victoria nods and leaves the interview to some heavy cheers from the audience, who are eagerly anticipating the GCW World Championship main event that they are about to see in a few moments.]

World Heavyweight Championship.
BROOKFORD vs Victoria Salinas [c]

[One of the questions coming into the main event was how much Victoria would have left considering the grueling match that she had at Resurrection. At the start of it, it didn’t seem like she had much of it as Brookford came storming out of the box with a clothesline that immediately took her out of it. Brookford gave Victoria little room or time to breathe, obviously relying on a power game. Brookford kept control with an array of suplexes including a Fisherman’s suplex, a gutwrench suplex and a belly to back suplex! Brookford would go for the cover after the latter, but Victoria managed to find a way to kick out. Brookford then went to a submission offense to further wear her down. Victoria managed to create a rope break to stop a half-Boston crab, but other moves like a sleeper hold and a cobra clutch took a little more out of her. Brookford went with a suplex with that cobra clutch still applied and went for a cover from there, but Victoria kicked out. Brookford continued to be in command as he got Victoria up. He was looking for a powerbomb, but in desperation, Victoria fired off a few right hands. She was able to stymie Brookford enough to grab him by the head and counter into a tornado DDT! This would be just the break that the champion would need as both were down for a bit. Brookford got up first and measured Victoria as she did the same. He went for a lariat, but Victoria ducked it and she turned around to counter with a running enziguri to the back of the head. Now it was the champion’s turn to take control. She slowly got back into it by relying on her technical prowess. A dragon sleeper started the rally and even though Brookford got to the bottom rope, Victoria kept at it as she tried to choke him out with a headscissors, and then further wear him down with a crucifix armbar. This would pay off as Victoria got more into her offense. A spinning heel kick to the gut allowed her to drop Brookford with a running cutter. Victoria made the cover, but Brookford managed to kick out of it. Victoria kept increasing her pace, keeping things steady with moves like a shining wizard and a Russian legsweep, and then she took to the skies. A springboard forearm kept him honest. But, it was a flipping senton from the top that would allow her to make a cover, only for Brookford to kick out again. Victoria next went for the Busaiku knee, but Brookford caught her and countered with a modified powerbomb that would keep them both down. The referee made a ten count. Both were up at 9. Double underhook powerbomb from Brookford! Cover! Victoria kicked out at two. Victoria would eventually recover and nail a chick kick to the side of the head! She made a cover, but Brookford kicked out at two. Victoria measured Brookford. As soon as she got up, she went for the Ginger Breaker. No! Brookford overpowered her and shoved her away. Victoria turned around… SPEAR…. NO… Victoria got out of the way and DOWN WENT THE REFEREE! Victoria came back with the Busaiku knee to the skull once Brookford turned around. She went for the cover, but quickly realized that the referee was down. Victoria tried desperately to get the referee to move, but he was completely out of it. Victoria got up… RIGHT INTO A SPEAR FROM BROOKFORD! Brookford slowly got up. He put Victoria in position to go for the Problem Solved but then out of nowhere, he was smacked in the spine with a chair shot by… ADRIAN WATERS!. Adrian smacked him in the spine again and Brookford fell to the mat. He laid down the chair and picked up the unconscious referee, giving him an Alabama slam into the chair! Adrian left the ring and grabbed the GCW World Championship. He slid back in. Brookford got up. Adrian blasted him across the skull with the title, causing him to bleed!
