Derek Powers had initially earned a shot at the GCW International Championship back at Resurrection X but due to being traded from Livewire to Shotgun, it was a tough war of words and threat of legal action to convince General Manager Tabitha Silverstone to grant Powers his International Title opportunity. Finally he got his shot, at Last Respects 2021, and made the most of it by defeating Ms. Budde to become the new GCW International Champion.
