Shotgun House Show - 8/9/2016

Post by Jazmyn Rain » Tue Aug 09, 2016 2:28 pm

LIVE from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida

OPENER: Melanie McBride vs. Monroe Jones

- The opening match featured the object of Nirvana's affection taking on Monroe Jones. Understandably, Melanie, frustrated by the recent "Nero" stuff as of late, came out of the box like a house of fire. Monroe at a few points would take advantage of this, but at the end of the day, Melanie was far too focused and far too heated for Monroe to really be much of a threat to her. Melanie made Monroe tap out with a Sharpshooter at 6:11

Hannah Myers vs. Ethan Payne

- Hannah Myers was looking to build one last bit of momentum before Deadly Dreams against Ethan Payne, who was trying to do the same thing. It was a largely back and forth affair for the better part of the match, but toward the end, Hannah took control of it and wouldn't let go. Hannah leaped off the top rope for a "Flight of the Angel" and connected with it without much trouble and she would pin Ethan at 8:00 to the delight of the crowd.

#GingerNation vs. Wrestling Royalty

- This would be one of the few times that Wrestling Royalty would ever be cheered, and for good reason. Still, the default goodwill from the fans was not even close to being enough. Jenni Anderson and #GingerAllison essentially dominated the entire way through. An "Eye of the Tiger" on Dionisia would result in Allison getting the pin for her team at merely 3:28 into the match. Afterward, Chagev took a 3 on 1 assault and Wrestling Royalty got a "brown bag" treatment from #GingerNation.

#GoTiffGo Gauntlet - Victoria Salinas vs. Arcadia Chavez, Mr. El Perro, Mrs. El Perro, Karina Lyasenko, Joey Michaels and Eric Sailes

- A pissed off Victoria Salinas meant nothing but bad news for her opponents. El Perro was first and he was promptly dropped with a Siren Breaker and pinned at :22. Mrs. El Perro was next and was promptly brought down with the Vainglorious Victory and submitted at :59. Arcadia Chavez came out and things got a little more interesting. Victoria unleashed a massive amount of anger on her, not giving her a chance to breathe and almost being DQ'd by a 5 count. Arcadia bit her in the forearm, causing Victoria to pop her in the mouth and cause her to bleed. A Siren Breaker and a pinfall at 3:44 followed. Joey Michaels was next and he attacked her from behind as he ran in through the crowd. For a couple of minutes, he was in control, beating down Victoria after his resourceful unfair advantage. However, a Busaiku knee out of nowhere was his demise at 6:02. Karina was next and after the last two, Victoria had the most problems with her. Karina was in control a good bit of the time, and even had a Kimura locked in, but too close to the ropes. Ultimately, Victoria expended much of what she had left to rally and drop the Siren Breaker for the pin at 8:40. After all this, Eric Sailes was the last one out. A clothesline attempt was countered into the Vainglorious Victory and the fans in the front row heard a "snap" sound as Sailes tapped immediately at 8:55 after his arm was broken. Victoria low blowed the referee and walked out, possibly as a big "screw you" to Tiffany Manning.

Handicap Match: Malcolm Cross vs. Knockout Champs

- You would think that two former members of Executive Order would be enough to bring down a former Global Champion, right? Well, that didn't exactly happen. Malcolm Cross virtually decimated them as if they were nobody's business as the former Midas henchmen hardly stood much of a chance. The numbers game would catch up, at least for a few minutes but ultimately, a collision between KOC would be their undoing as they literally butted heads. A Fade to Black and a Reckoning later and Jack Lazarus was tapping out at 7:30. Cross wasn't done as Alan Shields became the victim of a bloody sledgehammer assault and a powerbomb through a table afterward.

Kayla Jones vs. Aeden Quinn

- Things slowed down and got a little more technical with this match and the fans were definitely in for a treat with this one as one half of the Global Tag Team Champions was looking to take down Aedan Quinn and build some momentum for Deadly Dreams. However, Kayla got more of a fight then she may have initially bargained for as Aedan, chip on his shoulder as always, was relentless and wouldn't go down easily. Despite this, however, Kayla's experience came through and she got the Kaylan Wind Kick 1.0 and the impressive victory at 9:16.

Adrian Waters vs. Kyle Butler

Coming off a hard-fought loss, Kyle Butler looked to carry that momentum forward as he took on one of the two number one contenders to the GCW World Championship in Adrian Waters who fought as if he was still frustrated from the events of Shotgun a few days ago. In fact, Kyle would take advantage of this anger, outwrestling Adrian in the early going. However, Adrian would even things up with his own technical wrestling ability, proving he can match up with any given style on any given night. Near the end of the match, Kyle was looking to finish the match. But a rake in the eyes by Adrian prevented that. Adrian took advantage of this temporary blindness by lifting up Kyle and dropping him with the "Use Your Head", and that would be all she wrote at 11:09 as the fans hated Adrian's late-match cheating tactics!

MAIN EVENT: Isabella Harker and Gabriela Austin vs. Drake Hemmingway and Slade Merriman

- The fans were treated to quite the tenuous main event tag team match. Gabriela couldn't trust Isbalella AT ALL, considering recent revelations that were made on Television. If that wasn't enough, Slade wanted nothing to do with Isabella physically as he didn't want to hurt her, therefore, he made it a point to tag out every time Isabella was the legal wrestler. All the ingredients made for a rather unique encounter. Drake and Slade obviously were the team with the better chemistry. Slade had Gabriela pinned after a gutwrench suplex, but Isabella made the save. Yet, when Drake had Isabella pinned after a Northern lights, Gabriela didn't return the favor (though luckily, Isabella kicked out anyway). More team tension was on display with Gabriela even blind tagging herself in a couple of times. At the end of the match, Isabella FINALLY got Slade in the ring after she tagged in and stopped Slade from tagging out. Slade was mercillessly assaulted for a bit before Drake got involved, but that brought Gabriela back into the ring to take Drake out of the equation. Gabriela went to the top as Slade was getting up. She went for a diving spear, but Slade saw it coming and moved out of the way. As a result, the move hit Harker instead and she went down. Slade got PISSED and started unloading on Gabby, stomping her to near-oblivion in the corner. She did try to rally, but just when it seemed like she had Slade right where she wanted him, Drake got back in the ring and clocked Gabby in the spine with a chair, resulting in a DQ at 14:45. Drake and Slade beat Gabby down for a bit, not caring about the DQ. Drake held up Gabby and Slade had the chair, intending to clock her right in the head to claim another concussion victim. But Isabella got up and gave Slade a low blow from behind. Slade dropped the chair and she picked it up. She went after Drake who dropped Gabriela and left the ring, dragging Slade out along the way. Drake backed up the ramp, helping his partner do the same. Isabella stared them both down with anger, letting them know she wasn't going to tolerate things. Meanwhile, Gabby grabbed the chair and stood up, behind Isabella. Isabella turned toward her and Gabriela, still not trusting her, left the ring with the chair and left Isabella to celebrate with the crowd to end the night.
